Description

Handmade glass-free frames for prints, photographs and artwork

Our Float Frames are a simple, stylish way to present photographic and inkjet prints a clean, modern finish.

Handmade in-house here in Northamptonshire, they are produced using wood sourced from sustainably managed forests and supplied with 5mm pressure-sensitive adhesive foam board for easy mounting.

Your print is mounted to the supplied adhesive foam board, then fitted into the frame with a small, even reveal around the edge.

The glass-free design keeps the finished frame lightweight and easy to handle, making it a practical alternative to heavier MDF block mounts, particularly for larger prints. It can also make installation more straightforward across a wider range of wall types.

Float Frames are designed to hang neatly and flush to the wall. Depending on the size and format, they can also stand freely, making them suitable for shelves, counters, desks and display areas.

How to Mount Your Print
1. Peel back approximately 25mm of the release paper protecting the adhesive coating on the supplied foam board.
2. Lay the print face down on a clean bench surface.
3. Gently attach the exposed 25mm of foam board adhesive to the print, leaving a gap of around 3mm at the top and sides.
4. Finish mounting the print ideally using a roll laminator, so the print sits centrally on the board with an even 3mm overhang. Mounting the print using a roll laminator
5. Apply a thin line of adhesive, such as Unibond No Nails, to the inside rim of the frame. Applying adhesive to the inside rim of the frame
6. Position the print by gently sliding it into place, leaving a small, even gap all the way around. Positioning the mounted print inside the frame
7. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours, or for the recommended drying time, before packing or hanging.
